S04 E10: A Paler Shade of Pale Ale

Tonight we are reviewing one of the grandaddies of craft beer, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. We can't describe this 5.6% beer better than the brewers:

Pale Ale began as a home brewer's dream, grew into an icon, and inspired countless brewers to follow a passion of their own. Its unique piney and grapefruit aromas from the use of whole-cone American hops have fascinated beer drinkers for decades and made this beer a classic, yet it remains new, complex and surprising to thousands of beer drinkers every day. It is—as it always has been—all natural, bottle conditioned and refreshingly bold.

To The Pint

Brewery: Sierra Nevada Brewing
Beer: Pale Ale
Style: Pale Ale
ABV: 5.6%

Keith - Big fan of this beer. A lot of history in the birth of other beers. The perfect beer when you want something simpler. - 8/10
Jeremy - A classic pale ale. Balanced malt and hop profile. The hop flavor hits you up front, and then smooths out for a nice finish. A beer that is always a safe choice. - 8/10
Gary - Sierra Nevada set the industry standard for pale ale with this beer. Sometimes you need to go back to a basic beer, and this is the beer. A consistent beer. - 9/10
Rob - Slight hop taste at the beginning that dissipates quickly. Tastes almost like a pilsner with a hop hit. Refreshing. Even for a dedicated non-hophead, it is very drinkable. - 8/10

Total: 8.25/10
