S04 E09: Guinness Porter?

We are starting on the Guinness Brewers Collection tonight. This is a 12 containing two types of porters and two types of stouts. Tonight we will drink both porters. Rob is doing something apparently more important or more fun (or both) than podcasting, so he will not be joining us tonight.

To The Pint

Brewery: Guinness Brewing
Beer: Dublin Porter
Style: Porter
ABV: 3.8%

Keith - Very approachable. Would buy this again. Could drink this all day. - 7/10
Jeremy - Good malt flavor and decent bitterness. Nice roasty nose with a decent finish. Very drinkable, definitely sessionable.  - 8/10
Gary - Light body but tastes like a porter. Tastes more in the vein of a porter in England rather than an American porter. - 7/10

Total: 7.3/10

Brewery: Guiness Brewing
Beer: West Indies Porter
Style: Porter
ABV: 6.0%

Keith - Very smooth. Will enjoy having this again tomorrow. Prefer this over the Dublin Porter. Still approachable and has a clean finish.  - 8/10
Jeremy - More complex than the Dublin Porter. Pronounced bitterness, smoother toffee flavor. A slower drinking beer. - 8/10
Gary - A little richer, a little more complex than Dublin Porter.  - 8/10

Total: 8/10

Pint Taken

Speakeasy Brewing in San Francisco closes its doors after 20 years of making great beer.
The 50 biggest craft breweries in America.

Half Pints

Jeremy - onebagging: can you travel for days or weeks using only one small carryon bag?
Gary - UC Davis Basketball Team  Gary antipick - Logan: gratuitous violence, sad, depressing.
Keith - Hearthstone: a new expansion is coming out and they changed the ladder rules so you know get on this and then you can play Hearthstone with Keith.
