Season 03 Episode 21: The End of Summer Camp

Tonight we finish the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp pack. There are six different collaboration brews in the pack, and we will be covering one each episode.

Number six is a 4.9% beer that takes its inspiration from the flavors of the South. Corn grits, black tea, honeysuckle, and fruits like peach, papaya, and guava were used in the making of this beer. It is a collaboration between Austin Beerworks, Bayou Teche Brewing, Creature Comforts Brewing Co, Funky Buddha Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing, and Wicked Weed Brewing.

To The Pint

Jeremy - Lots of tropical fruit in the nose. Tart flavor, surprisingly. Very effervescent, with many tiny bubbles reminiscent of Champagne. The bitterness of the hops maybe doesn't compliment the tart flavor. Definitely a good summer beer, but the tartness kills it a little for me.  - 6/10Gary - Nothing special. Some interesting flavors, not a bad beer. Nice and cold while grilling would be ideal. - 6/10Rob - Guava and peach notes in the nose. Very dry finish. Not sweet. Perfect summer beer. - 7/10Keith - Great summer beer. Good with BBQ or to mow the lawn. Light, crisp, clean and flavorful. Not heavy at all. - 7/10

Total: 6.5/10

Keith Catchup Beer: Pat-Rye-Ot

Another great beer. West Coast inspired IPA with a little more floral notes. Kinda cute. - 6/10
