Season 03, Episode 20

Tonight we continue the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp pack. There are six different collaboration brews in the pack, and we will be covering one each episode.

Number five is a 5.6% ABV Pat-Rye-Ot Pale Ale. This old meets new pale ale features rye and apples, and is a collaboration with , Devil's Backbone Brewing Company, Dogfish Head, Lawson's Finest Liquids, Stoudts Brewing Company, Trillium Brewing Company, and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

To The Pint

Jeremy - Apples and hops in the nose. Pours with a nice head. Light color, lighter than Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale. Not getting the apple flavor. Perhaps a bit thin mouthfeel. Not a bad beer, but not an outstanding example of a pale ale. - 7/10Gary - A little tangy flavor, like tart apple. Perfumey aftertaste. The perfume aftertaste kills this for me. - 3/10Rob - Strange beer for me. Taste a floral hop, but the finish just stops. Getting the sour apple Gary mentioned. Almost like the apple cuts off the hop and carries through the beer. Not bad, just not sure what it is and what it wants to be. - 6/10

Total: 5.33/10
