We start the show off with talk of how Chris caught a picture of his baby girl up on the jumbo tron at the Washington Redskins pre-season game this past week. There are a lot of folks that would argue against Nokia’s Purview Cameras in the higher end Lumia smartphones being the best in the industry.
Verizon is closing a loophole on their discontinued unlimited data plans. Starting August 24th, customers with grandfathered unlimited data plans will no longer be able to buy new smartphones on an additional line with a $30 per month data charge, cancel the data plan, and, add a feature phone to the additional line bringing the price of the additional line down to $9.99 per month. Customer how buy phones with data plans will be required to maintain the data plan through out the term of the contract.
Windows 9 (Threshold) beta is expected out by the end of the year. Chris and Robb discuss if Windows 8 is a bigger bust than Windows Vista. Adoption rates indicate that it just may be.
